USA Baseball has announced the coaching staff for its U-15 National Team.
Jared Halpert was named manager. His coaching staff includes Steve Butler, Rob Shabansky and Jeff Sherman.
"Jared and this entire coaching staff have brought an exceptional level of baseball knowledge and a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field to USA Baseball programming for years, and we are confident that they will be eager and able to put together a strong U-15 National Team in 2021," said Charles Lane, USA Baseball Director of Baseball Operations.
Halpert previously served on the U-15 National Team coaching staff, while Shabansky was the pitching coach. Butler and Sherman earned their first National Team assignments.
The selection process for the U-15 National Team will begin at the 2021 National Team Championships in Arizona and North Carolina and the 2021 U-13 and U-14 Athlete Development Program (ADP). Forty-four athletes will be identified from the events to compete in the 2021 U-15 National Team Trials for a spot on the final 20-man U-15 National Team roster.
The United States are the defending U-15 World Champions. Dates for the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup are yet to be confirmed.
