USA Baseball and Major League Baseball announced that the Fun At Bat programme will be available to more than 2,000 elementary school students in Ibiuna, São Paulo Region, Brazil. The programme will be administered by the Brazilian Baseball and Softball Confederation (CBBS-Confederação Brasileira de Beisebol e Softbol) and the Ibiuna City Hall.

“The interest of baseball and softball within Brazil is a great growth opportunity for our sport,” said Tony Reagins, Executive Vice President of Baseball & Softball Development, Major League Baseball.

“We are excited to expand the Fun At Bat programme to the students and teachers in Brazil,” said USA Baseball Executive Director and CEO Paul Seiler. “The program continues to serve as a fun, safe environment for students to learn the sport in countries all across the globe."

Fun At Bat is an entry-level bat and ball programme for kids with an emphasis on character development, functional movement, active play, and fun. The initiative stems from meticulous research on introductory youth-sport programs and is supported by Major League Baseball, USA Baseball and industry professionals.

Fun At Bat already reached 3.5 million children in the USA, including Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, Mexico and England.
