USA roster for U-12 Baseball World Cup down to 36

The USA won the last three editions of the U-12 Baseball World Cup. The 2019 edition takes off on 26 July in Tainan, Chinese Taipei, the final roster of the defending champions will be announced on Thursday, 18 July

The roster of World number 2 United States for the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup is down to 36 players and the final Trials will start on Tuesday, 16 July, at William S. Hart Pony Baseball and Softball Park in Santa Clarita, California.

Eleven players on the national team Trials roster were selected from the 2018 National Team Identification Series (NTIS), while 10 were chosen from the 11U Futures Invitational. Additionally, 15 players were selected from the 12U National Open on Monday, 15 July, finalizing the 2019 U-12 Trials roster.

“Our task force has done a tremendous job at evaluating and selecting young men from every corner of the United States,” said U-12 National Team Programme Director Will Schworer.

TRIALS 36 PLAYERS

On Thursday, 18 July, USA Baseball will announce the final roster for the U-12 Baseball World Cup, to be played in Tainan, Chinese Taipei, from 26 July to 4 August.

Todd Fine will return as the manager of the U-12 USA National Team for the second consecutive year and will be joined by Jason Sekany, RJ Farrell and Marc Wiese, who all return to the staff after helping Team USA to its first-ever gold medal at the COPABE U-12 Pan-American Championships in 2018. Sekany will lead the pitching staff, while Farrell and Wiese will serve as assistant coaches

The three-time defending World Champions USA will debut in the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2019 on Friday 26 July against World number 7 Australia. They will also face in group B Korea (World number 3), Mexico (6), Venezuela (9) and Italy (16).
