The Valencia Astros won the 10-team Spanish Division de Honor, the top baseball league in the European country.

The Astros finished with a 17-1 record, losing their only game against San Inazio Bilbao Bizkaia and unbeatable lefthander Elio Silva.

The Astros swept a doubleheader, 6-2 and 6-4, against the second-place Tenerife Marlins on the final day.

The Marlins' Lesther Galvan, an everyday player for the Spanish National Team at the WBSC Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier, dominated the league offensively with 13 home runs, 32 runs batted in and a .441 batting average.
