Venezuela to select U-12 Baseball National Team from first-ever U-11 National Championship

Twelve teams are down to the second phase, the group winners will compete for the national title in February

The Venezuelan Baseball Federation (FEVEBEISBOL) has named Rafael Herdé and Alejandro Moreno as two of the three members of the coaching staff of the country's U-12 National Team.

The team representing Venezuela in the U-12 Baseball World Cup will be selected amongst the 400 players participating in the first-ever U-11 National Championship.

The preliminary phase of the championship developed across six different locations and qualified 12 teams to the next phase.

The second phase will promote the winners of four groups to the final.

Carabobo, Tachira and Lara will compete in group 1 in Lara. Merida will host Miranda and Portuguesa in group 2. Anzoategui, Falcon and Aragua will play in group 3 in Aragua. Caracas will host the fourth group, with Capital District, Bolivar and Yaracuy competing for a spot in the final.

The U-11 finals are scheduled for February. The host city will be announced at a later stage.
