WBSC awards broadcast rights in North America and Taiwan for Softball Asia/Oceania Qualifier

WBSC to live-stream all 16 games of the Women’s Softball Asia/Oceania Qualification Event for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020 on YouTube and its own OTT platform Game Time.

SHANGHAI, China — The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced that Flo Sports and Eleven Sports have been awarded exclusive broadcast rights in North America and Taiwan, respectively, for the WBSC Women’s Softball Asia/Oceania Qualifier. The event opens on Tuesday, 24 September, in Shanghai, China, with eight teams from Asia and Oceania battling for the last spot in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Eleven Sports Taiwan has been awarded exclusive rights to stream the 16 games of the tournament in its territory.

In the United States and Canada, the streaming and on-demand sports programming platform FloSports will provide complete live-coverage of the Olympic Qualifier event, offering every game of the event to its subscribers.

WBSC Chairman Tommy Velazquez said: “Fans around the world are anxious to watch the last Olympic Qualifier and finally know the six teams playing in the historic softball’s return to the Olympic Games. Once again the WBSC offers a top international softball event to its loyal fan base, giving our sport the highest visibility ever.”

All games of the WBSC Women’s Softball Americas Qualifier will be live-streamed and free-to-view on the official WBSC OTT Platform at https://gametime.sport and the WBSC Official YouTube Channel, for those territories not covered by WBSC’s broadcast and live-stream partners.

Eight teams will compete in the WBSC Softball Asia/Oceania Qualifier, including world No. 6 Chinese Taipei, No. 7 Australia, host and No. 8 China, No. 11 New Zealand, No. 13 Philippines, No. 23 Korea, No. 37 Indonesia and No. 42 Hong Kong, China.
