WBSC and the French Baseball Softball Federation (FFBS) took Baseball5 to the French Caribbean. The Ligue des Antilles et Guyane Françaises de Baseball, Softball and Cricket organized a clinic in Guadalupe from Wednesday 21 trough Friday 23 November.

“I consider Baseball5 a great tool to develop a baseball and softball community in the French Caribbean Islands,” commented the Ligue President Midji Verdol.

A total of 20 people attended the clinic. This included local sport managers, club executives, coaches and students of the SUAPS, the Sports Department of the University of the Antilles.

The programme included an introduction to Baseball5, the rules of the street version of baseball and softball, some advice on how to warm up before a game, tips on how to develop offensive and defensive skills in Baseball5 and umpiring basics. The clinic ended with a brainstorming session on how to build a Baseball5 field.

“The clinic went very well,” commented Elliot Fleys, FFBS Development Manager and a member of WBSC Baseball5 Commission “You could feel a lot of enthusiasm amongst the attendees.”
