WBSC Premier12 Super Round schedule amended

The World Baseball Softball Confederation announced slight amendments to the 2019 WBSC Premier12® Super Round schedule. The changes are limited to Games 25 and 29.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — The World Baseball Softball Confederation announced slight amendments to the 2019 WBSC Premier12® Super Round schedule.

The changes are limited to Games 25 and 29:

  • Game 25:  C1 or C2 vs A1 or A2 (originally C1 or C2 vs B1 or B2) on 13 November at 12:00 pm at the Tokyo Dome
  • Game 29:  B1 or B2 vs C1 or C2 (originally A1 or A2 vs C1 or C2) on 16 November at 12:00 pm at the Tokyo Dome

The updates follow requests from broadcast partners to schedule featured games during primetime hours, with WBSC enacting subsequent modifications to Game 25 and Game 29 to ensure playing conditions are as fair and as equal as possible for all 12 participating teams in terms of travel and rest times.

The II WBSC Premier12 will be staged over 32 games from 2-17 November — with opening rounds in Guadalajara, Mexico; Taichung and Taoyuan, Taiwan; and Seoul, Korea.

The top two teams from each group will advance to Japan and play in the Super Round, which is being hosted by Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

The top international baseball event in recent history, the WBSC Premier12 will award two slots into the Olympic baseball event at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
