WBSC President Fraccari awarded Italian Olympic Committee's Golden Collar

It's the highest sports honour awarded in the country and acknowledges Fraccari's "extraordinary accomplishments" as president of the IBAF and WBSC.

The Board of Directors of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI, Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano) awarded World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) President Riccardo Fraccari with the Golden Collar (Collare d'Oro).

The Golden Collar is the highest honour awarded by CONI. It goes to athletes who have earned World Titles or Olympic gold medals and sports officials who bring honour and contribute to the Italian sports movement.

The hand-signed congratulations letter by CONI President and IOC Member Giovanni Malagò states that Fraccari was awarded for his extraordinary accomplishments as the president of the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and the president of WBSC.

CONI also awarded the Golden Collar to Sabatino Aracu (roller sports) and Marco Scolaris (sports climbing), the other two Italian presidents of international federations, whose sports have been added to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

CONI awarded Enrico Obletter, the manager of the Italian Women's National Softball Team, the Palm for Technical Merit (Palma al Merito Tecnico), acknowledging the accomplishment of winning the WBSC Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier.
