Great Britain and Italy remain with a perfect record after two days, after their wins over South Africa and Czech Republic respectively. France earned its first win of the tournament against Botswana.

France 11-2 Botswana

France collected its first victory of the WBSC Softball Europe/Africa Qualifier after a comfortable five-innings win over Botswana, 11-2. Kimane Rogron led the French offense with 3 hits. Pitcher Sarah Benchali got the win, Seth Onneetse the loss.

Tomorrow France will face Italy at 10.00, while Botswana will take on Czech Republic at 16.00.

South Africa 0-15 Great Britain

Great Britain grabbed the second win of the tournament with a 3-inning, 15-0 win over South Africa, by a score of 15-0. The European team scored 10 runs in the first episode and secured the victory.

Great Britain improves its record to 2-0, and tomorrow will play the last game of Netherlands, in the last game of the Opening Round. With no wins in two matches, Botswana will take on Spain tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Czech Republic 0-2 Italy

Thanks to a great performance by pitcher Greta Cecchetti, Italy beat Czech Republic 2-0 in the second game of the Group B and remained undefeated at the WBSC Softball Europe Qualifier in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Italy scored the first point in the second inning with a double by Giulia Longhi and added the 2-0 lead in the sixth.

Thanks to this victory, Italy moves its record to 2-0 in the Group B, while Czech Republic is now 1-1. Tomorrow Italy will face France at 10.00, while Czech Republic will take on Botswana at 16.00.

Netherlands 7-0 Spain

Netherlands won today their second game of the tournament and qualified to the Super Round of the tournament, starting on Friday. The host team defeated Spain, 7-0, in five innings, and remain unbeaten in Group A. The Netherlands pitching staff was dominant against the Spanish lineup, allowing only 1 hit in 5 innings. Ginger De Weert fanned 4 in 3 episodes pitched to claim the win, with no hits and no walks.

Tomorrow the host team will take on Great Britain at 7 p.m. Both teams are already qualified for the Super Round, so the winner of the game will advance to the next stage with a 1-0 winning record.
