WBSC to live-stream all 50 games of the U-18 Baseball World Cup 2019 Gijang

The WBSC will produce and live-stream all 50 games of the XXIX WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, which opens tomorrow (Friday, 30 August) with six games at Gijang-Hyundai Dream Ballpark in Korea.

GIJANG, Korea — The World Baseball Softball Confederation today announced that it will produce and live-stream all 50 games of the XXIX WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup®, which opens tomorrow (Friday, 30 August) with six games at Gijang-Hyundai Dream Ballpark.

All games will be produced with English commentary, while select games will also be produced with Spanish commentary.

WBSC has awarded broadcast rights to Japan’s TV Asahi and J SPORTS, Korea’s Spotv and the Taipei-based Videoland.

WBSC will cover viewers in other countries and territories via its own OTT platform at gametime.sport and the official WBSC YouTube channel at youtube.com/wbsc.

WBSC Secretary General Ms. Beng Choo Low and WBSC Executive Director Michael Schmidt unveiled the official trophy of the U-18 Baseball World Cup before a crowded press conference today.

“This U-18 Baseball World Cup will provide a preview of the future of our sport, and some of the players here will become baseball’s next stars,” said Schmidt.

“This flagship youth world championship will also be a preview of some of the biggest international baseball events in history: The WBSC Premier12 this November and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.”

Group A features No. 3 Korea, No. 7 Australia, No. 8 Netherlands, No. 10 Canada, No. 15 Nicaragua and No. 20 China.

Group B features world No. 1 Japan, No. 2 USA, No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 13 Panama, No. 23 South Africa and No. 26 Spain.

The top three teams from Group A will play the top three teams from Group B in the Super Round from 5-7 September, with the top two teams meeting in the Final match For the title of World Champion on Sunday, 8 September.
