WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup Day 2: Four teams keep immaculate records
Japan, Australia, Mexico and Canada remain unbeaten after two days of the U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup.
Australia and Canada in Group A and Japan and Mexico in Group B maintained their unbeaten records on the second day of the U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
Australia edged Argentina 6-4, while Canada beat yesterday's surprise team Singapore 8-4. Meanwhile world No. 1 Japan were too good for Guatemala winning 12-1 and Mexico kept Denmark scoreless, winning 13-0.
Canada and Japan both appeared in every single edition of the Junior Men’s Softball World Championship with the world No. 1 winning in 1981 and 2016, while Australia won the last edition in 2018 on their 11th appearance. Mexico tallied their best finish in 1981 at 3rd place.
Canada yet again hit the day's first home run, this time courtesy of Connor Brooks.
While Mexico's Humberto Valdez pitched the first no-hitter of the tournament.
It was also a day of first victories as Czech Republic and New Zealand joined the win column.
