Yi-Ting Yang and Chih-Ying Lin combined for four hits and six RBI to lead Chinese Taipei to its second victory of the round robin at the WBSC Softball Asia/Oceania Qualifier. Chinese Taipei used two big innings in the first and sixth to secure the win.

Chinese Taipei used four hits, all of them stand up doubles, to get a 5-run difference in the first inning. Yi-Hsuan Su ignited the big inning with a one-out double to right field, and then Szu-Shih Li, Yi-Ting Yang and Feng-Chen Lin followed with their own two-baggers to produce the first four runs of the game. Chih-Ying Lin plated the fifth with a sacrifice fly to right field.

After the first inning, Indonesia starter Isti Yanti settled down and pitched two consecutive scoreless innings. Then Lidia Krey relieved Yanti and also kept Chinese Taipei from scoring for two more innings.

The good effort of both pitchers didn’t receive any support from the offense, who only could connect two hits off Ya-Ting Tu, who pitched five scoreless innings and claimed the victory.

In the top of the sixth Chinese Taipei exploded with eight runs to secure the win. After two quick outs, the lineup delivered eight singles to decide the game. Yanti had to reenter the game to retire the last out of the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth An-Ju Chiu retired the side with two grounders and a fly ball to close the shutout for Chinese Taipei.

Chinese Taipei finished the round robin with a 2-1 record, while Indonesia ended 0-3.
