Zurich Challengers, Barracudas to play for Swiss softball title, series starts Saturday

In an all-Zurich match up, the Challengers and Barracudas will play for the national title in a best-of-three series.

The Zurich Challengers finished the regular season as the top-seeded softball club in Switzerland and will play in the final of the Swiss Softball League against the second-seeded Zurich Barracudas.

Game 1 of the championship series will be played on Saturday, 19 September, at 1 p.m. local time, at Sportplatz Rümelbach, in Rümlang, north of Zurich.

Game 2 will be played on 26 September at noon, at Klopstockwiese field in Zurich, with Game 3, if necessary, taking place immediately after.

Switzerland is currently the 33rd-ranked nation in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Rankings, and finished 27th in their only participation in a WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship (2016 in Surrey, Canada).
