澳洲壘協宣布二十位將參加2020國家職業女壘聯盟比賽的選手名單，這將做為澳洲今年夏天前往東京第五度進入奧運的熱身賽。
在 澳洲太平洋盃 與夏季滿貫–全力以赴壘球錦標賽後，入選的選手將於五月底前往美國，以明尼蘇達澳洲胡椒參賽國家職業女壘聯盟球季。
＂2019年明尼蘇達澳洲胡椒的第一個球季是我們高表現計畫的關鍵，讓我們在世界棒壘球總會奧運亞洲/大洋洲資格賽能拿下全勝。＂澳洲壘協執行長David Pryles說。＂我們很高興能在2020年持續這項關係，做為我們奧運計畫的跳板。＂
澳洲總教練 Laing Harrow 說要選出全國最好的二十位女壘選手是困難的，不少選手以些微之差落選。
＂在幾個守備位置上總是會很難做決定，特別是奧運年。＂Harrow說。＂在最後幾周黑鎮的澳洲太平洋盃 與夏季滿貫–全力以赴壘球錦標賽我們有很多表現傑出的選手，我們對選出要前往美國職業女壘聯盟的陣容有信心。＂
二十位入選選手，僅有投手Justine Smethurst 在2008年，還有2004、2008年澳洲隊長Stacey Porter 有奧運經驗。
全部二十位選手過去都曾代表過澳洲參與國際賽。

六月底在職業女壘聯盟賽事過後，將會選出最後十五位選手前往日本，並且在 大田區 進行短期集訓。
澳洲在奧運壘球擁有值得驕傲的歷史，在每屆奧運壘球賽都曾贏得獎牌，2004年的銀牌、1996、2000與2008年的銅牌。
三月4-8日在澳洲體育學院將會進行集訓。
