Jeremy Vargas tosses no-hitter in Panama’s 5-inning U-15 World Cup win over Colombia

Panama, which finished second in the last edition of this event, scored multiple runs in the second, fourth and fifth, capped by a walk-off single to right field by Juan Caballero.

Panama starter Jeremy Vargas was unhittable this afternoon at Hector Espino Stadium, leading his team to a 10-0, five-inning win over Colombia in the first Group B game of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup. Vargas didn't allow a hit today, giving up only two walks in the game while striking out three.

Luis Rivera and Iverson Allen contributed with a pair of RBIs from the top two spots of Panama's lineup, while Luis Plicet went 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

The lost was charged to Carlos Galindo, who started the game and tossed 2.2 innings for Colombia, giving up two runs and two hits. He was the first of five pitchers for the South American squad.
