Schedule announced for historic Baseball Champions League Americas; Tickets on sale

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), along with the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB, Mexican Baseball League), Yucatan State Government and Leones de Yucatan (LMB club), unveiled the schedule of the inaugural Baseball Champions League Americas (BCL).

Baseball's first-ever "international tournament of champions" will be played in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, from 28 September to 1 October, with the participation of league champions from Colombia, Cuba, Mexico and USA.

The tournament will begin on 28 September, with the final scheduled for Sunday, 1 October. All seven games will be played at Parque Kukulcan Alamo Stadium in Merida.

The participating teams are Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, champions of the American Association of Professional Baseball (an official Partner League of Major League Baseball); Alazanes de Granma, the Cuban National League champions; Caimanes de Barranquilla, winners of the Colombian Baseball League; and hosts Leones de Yucatan, LMB champions 2022.

The four teams will open the tournament with a single round robin with the first and second-place finishers facing off in the final on 1 October, at 6 p.m. local time.

The BCL schedule was presented during a press conference held at Parque Kukulcan Alamo - home of Leones de Yucatan which will serve as the host venue for the competition - with the participation of Horacio de la Vega, LMB and Local Organizing Committee Executive President; Guillermo Ramírez, Baseball Champions League Commissioner; Carlos Sáenz, Director of the Yucatan State Sport Institute Director; Juan José Arellano, Leones de Yucatan Administration Council President; and Erick Arellano, Leones de Yucatan Executive President.

Ticket sales

Ticket sales started on Wednesday, 23 August. Tournament passes will be available until Sunday, 3 September, with daily tickets on sale from 4 September.
