Japan's Ren Ogata earned MVP honours at the XXXI WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup. He was awarded during the closing ceremony.
Ogata was the starting second baseman for 2023 U-18 World Champions Japan. He appeared in all nine games and went 13-for-24, a .542 batting average, with one triple and five RBIs.
Ogata had five play opportunities and 15 assists, turning three double plays. He didn't commit an error.
During the Closing Ceremony, the WBSC also announced the XXXI U-18 Baseball World Cup All-World Team.
The All-World Team represents the four medal round teams, the sixth-place Netherlands and Placement Round teams Panama and Mexico.
