No-hitter crowns Lamigo Monkeys 2015 CPBL Champions among record attendance

TAOYUAN, Taiwan — Lamigo Monkeys pitcher Pat Misch threw the first post-season no-hitter in Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) history, as the Monkeys defeated the Chinatrust Brothers, 11-0, in Game 7 of the “Taiwan Series” to repeat as CPBL champions.

TAOYUAN, Taiwan — Lamigo Monkeys pitcher Pat Misch threw the first post-season no-hitter in Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) history, as the Monkeys defeated the Chinatrust Brothers, 11-0, in Game 7 of the “Taiwan Series” to repeat as CPBL champions.

Monkeys outfielder Po-Jung Wang was named Outstanding Player of the Taiwan Series, and shortstop Chih-Sheng Lin was awarded MVP. Both Wang and Lin will be playing for world No. 4 Chinese Taipei in the upcoming WBSC Premier12.

The 2015 Taiwan Series was the most attended in history for CPBL, attracting more than 120,000 over seven games.

Both Game 6 and Game 7 at 20,000-seat Taoyuon International Stadium were sold out.

CPBL, a WBSC Member, is Taiwan’s top sports league, helping baseball to increase its position as the most popular sport in the nation.
