WBSC-sanctioned USA vs. Japan All-Star Series set to begin

SENDAI, Japan — The world’s top ranked Women’s Softball National Teams will face off against each other in the USA vs Japan All-Stars Series beginning tomorrow in what could be a taste of what’s to come in Tokyo in 2020.

SENDAI, Japan — The world’s top ranked Women’s Softball National Teams will face off against each other in the USA vs. Japan All-Stars Series beginning tomorrow in what could be a taste of what’s to come in Tokyo in 2020.

The three-game series will start in Shellcom Sendai, in Izumi-ku, Sendai, with the finale in Yokohama Stadium, in Naka Ward. Yokohama will be the main venue for the Olympic tournament.

The U.S. team is coming off a 14-2 win over Mexico in an exhibition game, while Japan is fresh off winning the 2017 East Asia Cup.

The opening game of last year’s event attracted a record softball crowd of 31,448 fans to the iconic Tokyo Dome – the first time an elite softball competition was held in the facility.
