Seoul (Korea). The XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship starts with rain. The morning games on Thursday, August 30 Colombia-Venezuela and Japan-Czech Republic were cancelled due to the bad weather conditions at Jamsil and Mokdong Baseball Stadiums.

Due to the bad weather forecast there is also the possibility that the entire first day of the tournament will be canceled. However this decision hasn’t been made yet, giving organizers the chance to play if there is a favorable break. Games would be played according where they are in the schedule.

The opening ceremony, which was scheduled for Thursday at 1pm local time at Jamsil Stadium, has been cancelled as well.

All canceled games on Thursday, August 30 will be moved to Tuesday, September 4, which was supposed to be a rest day for all teams. An updated schedule will be posted on www.ibaf.org later in the day.
