U-12 Baseball World Cup: Chinese Taipei outscore Mexico

TAINAN, Chinese Taipei-The hosts Chinese Taipei outscore Mexico to win a game delayed more than 2 hours by rain, remain undefeated and secure themselves a spot in the superround

Chinese Taipei defeated (10-0 in 5 innings) Mexico and remained the only undefeated team in group A, securing theirself a spot in the super round. They will player with Japan their last match in the qualifying round later today.



Chinese Taipei were impressive in their first at bat. With one out, Mexico starter Tirado walked a couple and left for Monjaras. Star catcher Pai Chen An hit a bullet along the left foul line to score one run, but was the second out at second. Second baseman Sun Yi Lei batted in the second run on a base hit and scored the third thanks to a balk, stealing third and taking advantage of an error. Third Baseman Yang Nien Tsu, who had reached on the error, scored on right fielderHsu Chia Chin single to right.
With starter Han Shuo Heng cruising through Mexico line up, Chinese Taipei weren’t satisfied with a 4-0 lead and added 2 in the second, forcing Mexico to go once again to the bullpen and call Gutierrez. Han Shuo Heng than gave himself some additional help turning Gutierrez second pitch into a towering 3 run home rune to dead center. Chinese Taipei extended the lead to 10-0 on a bases loaded walk and Mexico relieved Gutierrez with Mendez.
Chao Chia Cheng took care of the last 6 outs to end the game in 5 innings.

Han Shou Heng was unhittable for Mexico
