USA Baseball announces roster for U-12 Baseball World Cup

USA Baseball announced the 2017 U-12 National Team roster. The 18 player roster was picked following the completion of National Team Trials in Castaic, California. Team USA will compete as the defending champions in the U-12 Baseball World Cup in Tainan (Chinese Taipei), beginning Friday 28 July.
Here’s the players selected: Trent Abel (IF-San Diego, California); Daniel Arambula (IF/RHP-Redlands, California); Josh Atomanczyk (RHP/C/IF-Franklyn, Texas); Erryck Barnes Jr. (IF/OF-San Diego, California); Hank Benny (RHP/IF-Ausin, Texas); Brad Burnes (OF/RHP-Belvedere, California); Spencer Butt (IF/RHP-Davie, Florida); Kai Caranto (IF/RHP-Santa Clarita, California); Owen Egan (OF/RHP-Yucaipa, California); Colt Emerson (IF/C-Cambridge, Ohio); Gavin Grahovac (C/OF-Orange, California); Ashton Larson (OF/LHP-Overland Park, Kansas); Brandon Olivera (RHP/C-Hialeah, Florida); Gregory Pierantoni (IF/RHP/OF-Valencia, California); Bryce Rainer (OF/RHP, Simi Valley, California); Benjamin Reiland (C/OF-Irvine, California); CJ Rice (IF/RHP-Pleasanton, California); Raffaele Velazquez (C/IF-Long Beach, California).
Caranto, Egan and Velazquez are Team USA alumni.

“Our staff has met for hours over the last 3 days trying to select 18 kids from an exceptional group of talented athletes” told manager David Sharp to USA Baseball website “And I am very happy with the players that we have chosen to represent Team USA at the Baseball World Cup”

The U-12 USA National Team will train from July 22 through July 24 at VTV Baseball Complex in Castaic (California). USA Baseball scheduled 3 warm up games: on July 22 against the Easton Canes, on July 23 against the Cen Cal Prospects and on July 24 against the Total Baseball Bears.
