On day two of competition at the NaSPA Stadium in Narita Japan, the opening game saw Puerto Rico and the Netherlands, and the Caribbean team took the win, 6-5.

The first two innings proved to be hard for the Puerto Rico National Team as the Dutch allowed only 1 hit committing no errors. The Dutch were leading 4-0 after two innings, including a home run by Britt Vonk.

Then Puerto Rico managed to reopen the ballgame in the third scoring 2 runs, thanks to two hits and a Dutch error. Puerto Rico completed the come-back in the fourth, with a three-run rally for the 5-4.

One inning later Jessie Van Aalst homered to deep center field to tie the game, but Aleshia Ocasio answered with a solo homer it the sixth to fix the final score on 6-5.

In the bottom of the seventh Neherlads loaded the bases with two outs, but Meghan King escaped the jam after a long fly ball catched by Elizia D’Orazio in center field to end the game.

The winning pitcher was Meghan King who worked six innings in relief, allowing 1 run, 2 hits and 3 walks, with 3 strikeouts.

Tomorrow Puerto Rico will face South Africa at 10:00 and Philippines at 18:00 local time. The Netherlands will play against New Zealand at 18:00.
