Swiss luxury watchmaker and WBSC partner Hublot hosted a charity event on Tuesday with two baseball legends, former Japaense professional players Kazushige Nagashima and Koji Uehara.

Hublot, the Official Timekeeper of the 2019 WBSC Premier-12® for the second time, celebrated the best of international baseball that is currently being held in Japan - The 2019 WBSC Premier 12. The “Classic Fusion Aerofusion Victory” with a special gold-stitched strap, inspired by the design of a baseball, will be awarded to the MVP of the final. In addition, Hublot timepieces will be awarded to two other players as Special Awards for the final and to the MVP in the bronze medal game.

The total of 1,800,000 yen (CHF15,600) was presented to the NPO Chiba Youth Baseball Federation as a donation for the restoration of a baseball stadium, which is used by children in the Chiba Prefecture for practices and competitions and was severely damaged by Typhoon No.15 and No.19 in September and October 2019.

“When the children's smiles can be seen at the baseball stadium, we can say it is a real reconstruction," Nagashima said. "And if I have a chance, I would like to coach in the professional baseball team”.

Uehara added: “After retired my career in May, I didn’t have chance to play with children. So this event was very fresh and exciting."
