WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup logo presented

The WBSC presented the new logo of the U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup, the newly created global youth softball event to be inaugurated in Palmerston North, New Zealand in February next year.

This new emblem marks a new step in the rebranding process of the softball world championships into Softball World Cups across all men and women’s platforms and age-groups, and is part of a “unified” look and feel of all softball events logos.

The logo will become the permanent identity for the upcoming U-18 Men’s Softball World Cups, replacing the U-19 category starting in 2020.

The image shows a softball player swinging the bat, reaching full extension in an iconic power-hitting position. The different hues of turquoise and light blue represent the refreshing character of the young players from the five Olympic continents. The orange-coloured bat and swing reflect the energy and joy of the game.

The bat, the direction of the swing and the sight of the player, all pointing up and forward, expresses a positive and optimistic perspective about the athletes’ future, right in the beginning of their international careers, but also symbolize the men’s softball growing path in the years to come.

The full tournament logo contains the official name of the event, including the WBSC mark, the host nation’s flag and city, as well as the year of the event.

The official tournament website of the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup has been launched at https://u18mswc.wbsc.org/en/2020 and across six languages, including English, French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Traditional Chinese.
