Chen Tso Tseng' eighth-inning heroics lift unbeaten Chinese Taipei past Venezuela

Chen Tso Tseng had three hits, including the walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth. The hosts head to the Super Round undefeated, while the reigning world champions play in the placement round

Centre fielder Chen Tso Teng's walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning against Venezuela marked Chinese Taipei's dominance in the IV WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup.

The World No. 2 made a brilliant comeback to beat the reigning world titlists 4-3 on Tuesday, completing their undefeated run in Group A.

The result of the game would not have any effect on the outcome in the Opening Round for the two teams, as Chinese Taipei have already qualified for the Super Round, while Venezuela failed to clinch a spot in the next round for a chance to defend their world title.

Chinese Taipei and Venezuela used six pitchers each, but a part of that the game was intense and worth watching.

First baseman Jesus Chirinos hit two home runs for Venezuela. The first gave them the lead in the third inning and the second sent the game to extra innings.

Tseng not only had the walk-off hit. He went 3-for-5 and had another RBI and scored one run.
