WBSC Men's Softball World Cup: Year-long celebratory Trophy Tour finishes in Australia

The tour saw the beautiful trophy shown off in Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania, along with ACT.

After a year of travelling around the country, and with the WBSC Men's Softball World Cup Group Stage just around the corner, the Jet Couriers Men's Softball World Cup Trophy Tour has come to an end.

The trophy, won by Australia in December 2022 in Auckland, New Zealand, with a memorable 5-2 win over Canada, made it to all six Australian states and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), in an incredible effort from club volunteers and players in organising events to showcase the trophy and the world-champion players.

To add to the celebrations of the WBSC Men's Softball World Cup 2022 victory, last year Jet Couriers joined Softball Australia to get the Men's Softball World Cup trophy moving, bringing it to events all around the nation. The tour saw the beautiful trophy shown off in Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania, along with ACT.

Australia are the defending WBSC Men's Softball World Champions and the top-ranked nation in the WBSC/KONAMI Men's Softball World Ranking. After winning the tournament for the first time in 2009 in Saskatoon, Canada, they claimed their second title in the greatest men's softball event in the world in 2022, with a superb performance by young left-handed pitcher Jack Besgrove, who lead the green and gold squad to an overall 8-1 record.

The No. 1 side in the world, who recently appointed Scott Sunley as their head coach, will start their title defence in Group A in Hermosillo, Mexico, from 12 to 16 June. They will compete against No. 5 Czechia, No. 9 Mexico, No. 14 Philippines and two teams coming from the Americas Qualifier.
