2024 Cuban Baseball5 National Championship to open on 6 May

Six teams will compete in a round-robin, with the top two finishers playing for the title. The three-time defending champions Havana look like the favourites.

Havana will host from 6 to 11 May the fourth Baseball5 Cuban National Championship.

Six provinces qualified for the final through the different Zones: Havana and Artemis will represent the West Zone, Sancti Spiritus and Camaguey qualified from the Central Zone and Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba will be the East Zone teams.

Three-time defending champions Havana look like the favourites. Their roster includes WBSC Baseball5 World Cup reigning MVP Briandy Molina, World Champion Orlando Amador, and Youth Baseball5 World Champion Amanda Diaz. Sergio Arturo Pérez, an assistant coach at the Youth Baseball5 World Cup, will be the head coach.

Liorvis Savòn, an assistant coach at the 2022 Baseball5 World Cup, will manage Guantanamo, a two-time runner-up at the National Championship. Their roster includes World Champion Chakira Aspiazù and Youth World Champion Joel Blanco.

Sadian Fernandez, who led Cuba to a Youth Baseball5 World Championship, will manage Artemisa. The province aims to improve on its two consecutive third-place finishes.

Santiago de Cuba will count on World Champion Roisvelis Núñez and Youth World Champion Alexander Ortiz.

The six teams will compete in a round-robin. Each game will consist of three sets. The teams must field three women and two men in one of the first two sets.

After the round robin the top two finishers will play for the title.
