1 Baseball, 2 Softball events at Lima 2019 Pan Am Games

The Lima 2019 Pan American Games opens in Peru on Friday, 26 July, and includes three baseball/softball events, which will be played under official WBSC regulations: men’s baseball, men’s softball and women’s softball.

LIMA, Peru — The Lima 2019 Pan American Games opens in Peru on Friday, 26 July, and includes three baseball/softball events, which will be played under official WBSC regulations: men’s baseball, men’s softball and women’s softball.

The six-team men’s softball event (25 July – 1 August) opens on the eve of the official opening of the Pan Am Games, with recently crowned World Champions Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, USA, Venezuela and host Peru.

In women’s softball (3-9 August), host Peru will face the defending champion Canada, top-ranked USA, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Venezuela.

The baseball competition (29 July – 4 August) features Argentina, defending Pan-Am champion Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and host Peru. The top two teams that are not already qualified for this year’s WBSC Premier12 will advance to the WBSC Baseball Americas Olympic qualifier next year in the U.S.
