Anti-Doping: eBASEBALL™ Series World Finalists receive dedicated ITA workshop

Lisa Getz and New Zealand Olympian Nikki Hamblin ran the International Testing Agency workshop for eBASEBALL™ stars SHORA, fujito, Hazuremon and yabeGaming ahead of the World Finals.

One week ago today, the four WBSC eBASEBALL™ Series 2023 World Final athletes participated in a special anti-doping educational workshop held by the International Testing Agency (ITA) at the Olympic Museum.

Ahead of Japanese eBASEBALL™ super star SHORA being crowned World Champion on Saturday, the ITA emphasised the importance of clean sport, whether it is traditional or virtual.

Lisa Getz, an ITA expert passionate about empowering athletes to compete clean and Nikki Hamblin, a New Zealand Olympian in athletics, ran the workshop, which saw SHORA, fujito, Hazuremon and yabeGaming take part.

As well as discussions surrounding why anti-doping tests are vital for sport, the eBASEBALL™ athletes were shown how the tests are conducted and given information on how to ensure any medications and supplements they take are clean.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and ITA have been partners since January 2020, with the ITA supporting the WBSC in areas such as education, investigations, results management and out-of-competition testing.
