Argentina national federations launch first-ever baseball/softball diploma programme in the country

The Argentina Baseball and Softball National Federations (Federación Argentina de Béisbol and Confederación Argentina de Softbol respectively) signed a joint agreement with the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) to launch the first-ever baseball/softball diploma programme in the country.

The Argentina Baseball and Softball National Federations (Federación Argentina de Béisbol and Confederación Argentina de Softbol respectively) signed a joint agreement with the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) to launch the first-ever baseball/softball diploma programme in the country.

The diploma programme includes baseball, softball and Baseball5, and consists of a 4-level certification programme for coaches. It’s the first-ever baseball/softball academic training programme in the South American country, and the first level is slated to start in September.

The new academic programme aims to promote the professionalisation of the human resources involved in the sport. The curricula will include not only training skills according to the different levels -sport initiation, development, competition and high performance-, but also subjects like sports management and pedagogical principles for each level.

The agreement was signed by Martin Mondino, President of the FAB, Jacinto Cipriota, President of the CAS and Oscar Incarbone for the YMCA.

This is not the first joint project between the FAB and CAS since both organizations are working together in the promotion and development of Baseball5 throughout the country, after the successful presentation of the new WBSC urban discipline at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018.
