Art & Softball exhibition in Peru displays 70 original collectibles that can be purchased

The exhibition was made at the Peruvian Olympic Committee to promote the inaugural WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup to be held in the country's capital.

On 5 December, the Peru Softball Federation launched the I Expo Arte & Softball "Carreras (Runs) 2020" with the showing of 70 original art pieces related to softball, made by 27 Peruvian artists. The activity is intended to promote the maiden WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup, which will be held in Lima from 28 August to 5 September 2021.

“Congratulations to the Federación Deportiva Peruana de Softbol for the Expo Arte & Softball Carreras 2020. This provides a unique exhibition of our sport’s emotion and spirit, which will serve as great inspiration looking ahead to the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup in Lima later next year, ” said Riccardo FRACCARI, president of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).

The catalogue with the 70 art pieces, as well as the information of the participating artists and the instructions to buy all these unique items, can be found here (in Spanish). The funds raised from sales and donations will go toward financing the development of youth softball in Peru.

“I feel very happy and satisfied with the event. We have presented more than 70 artistic pieces and the response from our audience has been spectacular,” said Softball Peru President Vanessa ENDO. “Art and Sports join forces with the common goal of changing lives and showing hope for many children and young people in our country. Thank you for helping us provide more opportunities for change in our society.”

“Sport is part of the cultural manifestation of our country. I want to highlight this initiative of the Peruvian National Softball Sports Federation to generate its own resources through these interventions,” said Gustavo SAN MARTIN, President of the Instituto Peruano del Deporte (IPD - Peruvian Sports Institute). “This type of initiative motivates us to continue our support, especially now with the organization of the WBSC U18 Softball World Cup."
