Taiwan to host Asian qualifiers for U-12 and U-18 Baseball World Cups

The U-18 Asian Baseball Championship will be held in Kaohsiung in September, while the U-12 Asian Baseball Championship is scheduled for November in Tainan.

The Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) announced that the 2020 U-12 and the U-18 Asian Baseball Championships will be staged in Taiwan. Both of these continental championships will feature eight participants and are qualifiers to the respective WBSC Baseball World Cups.

The BFA U-18 Asian Baseball Championship is scheduled for the month of September in Kaohsiung, a port city inhabited by 2.7 million people in the south of the island. Korea won the last BFA U-18 Championship in 2018.

The BFA U-12 Asian Baseball Championship is scheduled for November in Tainan, a historical city on the southwest coast of the island and the host city of the U-12 Baseball World Cup since 2015. Chinese Taipei, the defending 2019 U-12 Baseball World Cup champions, won the last U-12 BFA Championship in 2018.

The Baseball Federation of Asia, a continental arm of the WBSC, was founded in 1954 and has 24 member countries.
