Italy, Ireland, Czech Republic qualify for WBSC Women’s Softball U-19 World Championship 2019
Ireland was the surprise of the tournament played in Staranzano (Italy). World number 8 The Netherlands finished fourth and failed to qualify for the World Championship. The defending champions Great Britain finished sixth
Italy defeated in the final Ireland, 7-3, to claim the U-19 Women’s Softball European Title. Czech Republich defeated, 12-9, The Netherlands in the third place game and qualified, together with Italy and Ireland, for the WBSC U-19 Softball World Championship 2019.
Seventeen teams participated in the U-19 Women’s Softball European Championship in Staranzano, Italy. World number 20 Ireland provided a true surprise, as they left behind number 8 The Netherlands, number 10 Czech Republic, number 14 (and defending champion) Great Britain.
World number 9 Italy hadn’t won the European title since 2010, when they had defeated Germany in the final played in Vienna.
