Netherlands win U15 European Championship

The Netherlands have won the U15 European Championship in Jablonec and Liberec, Czech Republic. The Dutch team beat Germany 10-5 in the Gold Medal Game on Saturday. Russia finished in third place after prevailing in the Bronze Medal Match against the Czech Republic.

The Netherlands have won the U15 European Championship in Jablonec and Liberec, Czech Republic. The Dutch team beat Germany 10-5 in the Gold Medal Game on Saturday. Russia finished in third place after prevailing in the Bronze Medal Match against the Czech Republic.

Overall eight teams participated in the Cadets tournament from July 17 to 21. The preliminary round was dominated by the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic and Russia. In the semi-finals the Dutch and German teams celebrated lopsided wins over Russia and the Czech en route to the championship game.

Winner Netherlands not only went undefeated to the title in the U15 European Championship, but also captured all individual awards. Max Draijer was named MVP, Taylor Clemensia best batter and Max Schuttle best pitcher.
