Pakistan: Baseball coming to schools across the nation after being added to Inter-Board Games

The bat-and-ball game will be introduced across 32 educational boards of the country. "This will further help the growth and promotion of baseball," commented the Pakistan Baseball President, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah.

The Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) has confirmed that the sport of baseball will be part of the Inter-Board Games starting the 2021-22 season.

The Games are played between students of the 32 educational boards in the country. PFB Secretary General Sheikh Mazhar AHMED announced that baseball was approved as an Inter-Board sport during a meeting of the respective authority in November. This means the game will be immediately introduced as a curricular activity in Pakistan schools.

"The introduction of baseball at the Inter-Board level will further help the growth and promotion of the game," commented PFB President Syed Fakhar ALI SHAH. "Playing baseball at the school level will develop young players and provide a foundation for the future of baseball in Pakistan."

The latest edition of the Inter-Board Games featured athletics, badminton, hockey, table tennis and volleyball.

The PFB has been pushing the development of the game in the country, taking steps to build the nation's first baseball stadium, while launching academies to attract young players and grow the game.

Currently, Pakistan is ranked 27th in the WBSC Men's Baseball World Rankings and 17th in the women’s discipline.
