Shae Lillywhite: Australian women's baseball star becomes Madonna Japan myotherapist

The infielder (pictured above sliding into second at the Women's Baseball World Cup 2018) is the most capped Australian Women's Baseball National Team player.

The Baseball Federation of Japan (BFJ) announced that Shae Lillywhite, a Women's Baseball World Cup veteran, will serve as the Japanese Women's Baseball National Team myotherapist starting from the selection camp and continuing through to the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Finals presented by CARNEXT from 28 July to 3 August in Thunder Bay, Canada.

Lillywhite, 39, represented Australia from the 2004 Women's Baseball World Cup and played in nine consecutive editions, including the first stage of the ninth edition in Thunder Bay, Canada last year. She was voted the All-World Team second base in 2006.

The most capped Australian Women's Baseball National Team member also became the first overseas player to compete in the Japanese Women's Baseball League in 2013.

"She has gained a lot of trust from our players," commented WBSC Women's Baseball Commission Chair Hiroko Yamada on behalf of BFJ. "She is a skilled myotherapist and will make a great addition to our team. She will also help our players improve their English language skills."

World No. 1 Madonna Japan is the six-team Women's Baseball World Champion and will defend the title at the IX WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Finals.
