Softball Canada launches free webinar series featuring national team stars, high-level speakers

Each session will include a Q&A at the end and are FREE to all coaches, players, administrators, and fans.

Softball Canada launched a series of webinars open to all members of the softball community, featuring some of Canada’s most talented and respected softball representatives. Each of the sessions will be an hour-long, covering a unique topic facilitated by Softball Canada staff with special guest speakers.

Canada is one of softball's hot spots, with the men's programme currently ranked fourth in the WBSC World Rankings and the women's programme, which earned a spot at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, ranked third.

All webinars will be recorded and posted on Softball Canada's YouTube channel. Some webinars will offer coaches one professional development point (each) that will be count towards certification maintenance for the National Coaching Certification Program.

The first webinar, aired on April 21, featured a conversation with Softball Canada’s High-Performance Director and Women’s National Team Head Coach, Mark Smith, on his experiences coaching athletes within the Podium Pathway. This webinar is already available on YouTube:

The second episode of the series will be aired on Friday 24 April 2 pm EDT and will have National Team athletes Jenna Caira (Women's National Team), Xavier Daneau (Junior Men's National Team) and Steve Mullaley (Men's National Team) as guest speakers, sharing their personal journeys from minor softball to competing at the international level.
