Seminars in Africa, Turkey conclude WBSC Development Programmes 2018

It’s been a productive year for WBSC Development Programmes and the month of December will be particularly intense, with seminars happening in Kenya, Tanzania and Turkey. The series of event will start over early in 2019

A series of seminars will make the month of December very intense and productive for WBSC Development Programmes.

Saturday, 8 December, instructors Andrea D’Auria and Valeria Bortolomai will hold seminars for baseball and softball coaches in Nairobi, Kenya. The event is organised by WBSC in collaboration with the Baseball Federation and the Softball Federation of Kenya and will last until Monday, 10 December.

On Tuesday, 11 December, and Wednesday, 12 December, D’Auria and Bortolomai will instruct on Baseball5 baseball and softball coaches in Nairobi. Also this event is organized by WBSC in collaboration with the Baseball Federation and the Softball Federation of Kenya.

D’Auria and Bortolomai will hold another Baseball5 instruction seminar for coaches on Friday, 14 December, and Saturday, 15 December, in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The event is organized by WBSC in collaboration with the Tanzania Baseball and Softball Association (TaBSA).

Andrea D’Auria and Mojmir Jankovic will hold training courses for baseball coaches and baseball umpires on Monday, 17 December, and Tuesday, 18 December, in Turkey. These courses go under the Olympic Solidarity programme of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). WBSC will organise the event in collaboration with the Turkish Baseball and Softball Federation.

In 2017, WBSC supported the development of softball in Turkey with a donation of equipment.

The WBSC Development Programmes will include more seminars in 2019. In particular, WBSC Development Commission is working on an ambitious 2019 development plan for African Member Federations.
