WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier: Canada, Puerto Rico, Brazil remain undefeated

Canada and Puerto Rico remain undefeated in Group A of the WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier, while Brazil earned a key win against Venezuela and Peru collected a historic win over Dominican Republic.

Canada and Puerto Rico remain undefeated in Group A of the WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier, while Brazil earned a key win against Venezuela and Peru collected a historic win over Dominican Republic.

Venezuela 1-2 Brazil

In the best game of the tournament so far Brazil claimed a key win today against Venezuela, 2-1, to open the third day of competition in Group B. Mariana Ribeiro delivered a huge go-ahead 2-RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Brazil their second consecutive win of the tournament.

Canada 19-0 Guatemala

Danielle Lawrie and Jenna Caira combined for a 4-inning, 8-strikeouts perfect game against Guatemala, in a 19-0 one-sided game. Canada used a pair of 8-run innings to collect its second win of the event.

Puerto Rico 13-0 Bahamas

Peru claimed today a historic win against Dominican Republic, 6-1, closing the third day of competition of the WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier. Meiber Cabrera went the distance allowing only 1 run and 6 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.
