Pan Am U-15 Baseball Championship: USA-Dominican Republic for gold, Cuba-Panama for bronze. Brazil follows the top 4 to World Cup 2018

CARTAGENA DE LAS INDIAS, Colombia-USA, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Panama and Brasil qualify for the U-15 Baseball World Cup 2018. USA-Dominican Republic the final of the Pan Am Championship

USA, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Panama and Brasil qualified for the U-15 Baseball World Cup 2018 after they earned the top 5 spots of the Pan Am U-15 Championship.
The Netherlands and Germany had qualified earlier this year through the European Championship, so 7 nations have already clinched a spot in the U-15 Baseball World Cup 2018.

In the last day of the Super Round of the Pan Am Championship, played in Cartagena de Las Indias, Panama defeated (4-2) the hosts Colombia, that finished last (0-5 record) in the Super Round. USA beat (5-4) Brazil (that regrets on 6 defensive errors and 10 lost on base) and the Dominican Republic outhit (14-4; first baseman William Lugo went 4 for 5 with 4 RBIs) and defeated (7-4) Cuba, thus creating a 3 team tie on top of the standings. Being runs scored the first tie breaker, USA finished first and winning yesterday’s match up resulted in the second tie breaker, qualifying Dominican Republic for the gold medal game. USA broke a 3 team tie to win the Super Round

Cuba defeated (6-1) Panama and clinched the bronze medal. The championship game has been delayed by rain.
