Pan American U-23 Championship takes off 24 November in Panama, qualifies 4 for Baseball World Cup

The nations, groups and schedule of the inaugural U-23 Pan American Baseball Championship in Panama (Chitré, Aguadulce and Santiago) have been confirmed by WBSC’s Americas body, the Pan American Baseball Confederation.

The nations, groups and schedule of the inaugural U-23 Pan American Baseball Championship in Panama (Chitré, Aguadulce and Santiago) have been confirmed by WBSC’s Americas body, the Pan American Baseball Confederation. The 12-nation continental championship is scheduled from Friday, 24 November to Sunday, 3 December, and serves as the Americas qualifier for the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2018. The top 4 teams will advance to the Baseball World Cup.

  • Group A: Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic and Panama
  • Group B: Argentina, Brasil, Colombia, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Venezuela

At the end of the first round, the top 3 teams in each group will advance to the super round. The 2 top teams of the super round will play (2 pm local time on Sunday, 3 December) for the title.

Japan, Chinese Taipei and Korea have qualified from Asia, while the Netherlands and the Czech Republic qualified from Europe to compete For the Title of World Champion in the U-23 category.

The final results of the Pan Am U-23 Championship will be calculated in the WBSC Baseball World Rankings Presented by ENEOS.
