Baseball Australia invited 44 players to the National Junior Camp, scheduled from 16 to 24 April, in a location to be named later. The camp will select the team representing Australia at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, scheduled from 9 to 18 September in Florida, USA.

The choice of the 44 players, all born in 2004 and 2005 except for infielder Kim Jayden (2006), came after an in-depth review of data collected at the 2022 National Showcase Series events. The list includes left-handed pitcher Genevieve Beacom, the first-ever woman to appear in a professional baseball game in Australia.

"Not only is April's camp a key step in our U-18 World Cup campaign, but it is a fantastic opportunity to get a large group of our best prospects in one location," said Michael Crooks, Baseball Australia player development general manager. This is a reward for years of hard work not only from these athletes but those that have worked with them at the club level from day one through to now, along with in high-performance programmes. Excitingly for Australian baseball, there were a number of other players knocking on the door."
