Day 3 at The World Games softball competition

The World Games Softball semifinals are set after Day 3 of the competition. USA will play Australia, while Japan will face Chinese Taipei.

Canada 2-10 USA

Bottom 4th: CAN 2-10 USA - Amanda Lorenz blasts a two-run home run to left field to give USA a five-run difference again. An RBI double by Dejah Mulipola adds one on the scoreboard, and Taylor Pleasants hit a mammoth two-run home run to left field.

Top 4th: CAN 2-5 USA - With Kelsey Harshman on base, Kianna Jones homers to left field to put Canada on board.

Bottom 3rd: CAN 0-5 USA - USA scores three on an RBI single by Charla Echols, a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and a defensive error.

Bottom 2nd: CAN 0-2 USA - Dejah Mulipola gives USA the lead with a two-run single that scores Kinzie Hansen and Hannah Flippen.

Japan 6-0 Puerto Rico

Bottom 7th: JPN 6-0 PUR - Carsyn Gordon lines to center field for a double and breaks Miu Goto's perfect game bid.

Top 7th: JPN 6-0 PUR - Japan adds one run on a passed ball that allows Ayane Nakagawa to score.

Bottom 6th: JPN 5-0 PUR - Miu Goto retires the side in the sixth with a pair of strikeouts and a groundout. She's still perfect after six.

Top 6th: JPN 5-0 PUR - Japan rallies for four runs, with a 2-RBI triple by Hitomi Kawabata and a 2-run home run by Minori Naito.

Bottom 5th: JPN 1-0 PUR - Olympic gold medallist Miu Goto has pitched five perfect innings for Japan.

Top 3rd: JPN 1-0 PUR - Kyoko Ishikawa puts Japan on the board with a single to right field. Yui Sakamoto scores from third.

Italy 1-4 Chinese Taipei

Bottom 6th - ITA 1-4 TPE - Hsuan Liu drives in Chia-Wen Shen to give Chinese Taipei a three-run lead. We go to the seventh.

Bottom 3rd - ITA 1-3 TPE - Italy tied the game in the of the third on an RBI single by Amanda Fama (who is 2-for-2 in the game). Chinese Taipei responds with two runs in the bottom half of the inning, on a two-run single off the bat of designated player Chia-Yi Chen.

Bottom 2nd - ITA 0-1 TPE - First baseman Chih-Yin Lin drives in the first run of the game with an RBI single to right field.

Italy and Chinese Taipei are playing their last game in Group B.

Australia 8-0 Mexico

Top 6th: AUS 8-0 MEX - Australia has scored at least a run in five of the six innings played, including a Jade Wall two-run homer in the fifth inning. Wall is 3-for-4 with 4 RBI.
