Korea use six-run third to defeat Panama

World No. 5 Korea used a six-run third to beat No. 14 Panama, 11-3.

Panama's effort was plagued by four defensive errors.

Sangmeong Yang led off with a single against starter Javier Acevedo, stole third and scored the game's first run on a ground out.

Korea thrived on a couple of walks by Acevedo and an error to break the score open in the top of the second. Yang, designated hitter Uijeong Lee and right fielder Taewoong Yoon singled, and Korea scored six before reliever Algis Palacios could end the at-bat.

Three pitchers shared duties for Korea, Nawon Kim, Beomjun Kim and Hanjun Kim.
