Five U-15 Baseball World Cup spots up for the grabs in WBSC Americas Qualifier

Mexico, Dominican Republic, Panama, Brazil, Argentina and Bahamas will play in Group A. Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Peru and Team WBSC will compete in Group B.

The Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, will host the WBSC Americas U-15 Baseball World Cup Qualifier from 16 to 21 March.

Twelve teams split into two groups will compete for five spots in the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2024.

Group A will include world No. 2 Mexico, No. 9 Dominican Republic, No. 10 Panama, No. 23 Brazil, No. 31 Argentina and No. 59 Bahamas.

No. 6 Venezuela is the top-ranked team in Group B and will face No. 8 Cuba, No. 12 Puerto Rico, No. 20 Nicaragua, No. 44 Peru and No. 53 Team WBSC.

Since the International Olympic Committee has suspended the National Olympic Committee of Guatemala, Guatemalan athletes cannot represent their country or compete under its flag and name at international sports events. In respect of the athletes’ right to participate, they will compete at the WBSC Americas U-15 Baseball World Cup Qualifier under the WBSC flag.

At the end of the opening round, the first-place finishers of each group will compete for the title. The second-place finishers will play for bronze. The No. 3 seeds will play for the fifth and final spot in the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2024.

From 1989 to 2011, the International Baseball Federation held 13 World Youth Baseball Championship editions for the U-16 age bracket.
