The 25th Annual running of the National Schools Championships will begin on 6 May in Geelong.

The six day tournament has a long and storied history in the Australian baseball landscape and the Australian Schools Organisation is excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary this year.

For many years, up until the late 80s, there was simply an annual five game series between NSW and Queensland. Then, ACT, WA and Victoria gradually joined the fold and the first National Championship was run in 1989. SA joined the competition in 1996 and the six team competition, that still remains today, was created.

The Championships are now an official part of the Australian Baseball Federation’s elite youth program.
