Asian Games: Volunteers take the field for massive Baseball5 event in Shaoxing

The event took place on the two Asian Games baseball fields, transformed into a dazzling array of 12 Baseball5 fields, with a total of 276 participants organized into 45 teams.

Almost 300 volunteers at the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games took the field in Shaoxing, China, for a massive Baseball5 tournament. The event was held at the Shaoxing Baseball & Softball Sports Centre, venue of the baseball and softball competitions.

The event took place on the two Asian Games baseball fields, transformed into a dazzling array of 12 Baseball5 fields, with a total of 276 participants organized into 45 teams. 

In this opportunity, the volunteers turned into active participants, gaining first hand experience of what the athletes would go through. They all hail from the local Zhejiang Yuexiu University and will play a vital role in providing volunteer services for the upcoming 19th Asian Games' baseball events. 

Their roles encompass various responsibilities such as Field Maintenance, IT Support, Scoring & Timing, Athlete Services, Technical Official Services, Equipment & Storage, and Ceremony Services. 

Prior to the tournament, all volunteers underwent an extensive 45-day pre-game training program to ensure they were well-prepared for the upcoming baseball event.

The 19th Asian Games baseball and softball events are set to take place in Zhejiang Province Shaoxing City from September 26th to October 7th. This marks the introduction of international baseball to the province, a historic moment eagerly anticipated by both athletes and fans alike.
