Australia to tune up for WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals against Chinese Taipei
The Australian Women's National Softball Team will be playing Chinese Taipei in a six-game series at Blacktown International Sports Park in early March, in the first international softball game on Australian soil since 2020.
From 1 to 5 March, world No. 10 Australia will host No. 4 Chinese Taipei in a six-game series to tune up for the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals, to be staged in Castions di Strada, Italy, in July. The series will be played at Blacktown International Sports Park, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games softball competition venue.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for the Sydney softball community to get behind the Spirit with their first home games in four years," said Sarah Loh, Softball Australia CEO. "We’re looking forward to welcoming our friends in Chinese Taipei for a great series of intense competition on the diamond."

Both teams faced each other twice last year in Balbriggan, Ireland, for the Group A of the World Cup. Australia grabbed a 5-0 win during the round robin and then, on the final day of the competition, the green and gold secured a 4-3 win to eliminate Chinese Taipei. With this victory, Australia moved to the repechage against Great Britain, where the Oceania giant secured their ticket to the Finals with a thrilling 4-1 win.
The WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals will be hosted in Castions di Strada, Italy, from 15 to 21 July. The eight National Teams are split into two groups. Australia will compete in Group B against No. 2 Japan, No. 3 Puerto Rico and No. 8 Netherlands.
No. 1 USA, No. 5 Canada, hosts and No. 6 Italy and No. 15 China will open the Finals in Group A. You can see the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals schedule here.
